Another Scottish Castle....

from $500.00

"Oh look...another Scottish Castle." I overheard someone say upon pulling up to the grounds of Eileen Dunn Castle. Castles are everywhere in Scotland. I'm pretty sure there's enough for everyone in the country to own one. So I guess it's easy to feel spoiled. But growing up in South Florida, the closest thing I'd ever seen to a "real castle" was Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. So forgive me for being awestruck upon encountering every single one.

I spent much of my youth lost in fantasy and playing video games. Whether it was Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, or the echoes of my imagination, so much of my early joy in life involved their presence. I think my fascination goes even deeper than that too. I was a shy, secretive child who often retreated into himself for reasons best left to a couch in a shrink's office. But let's just say surrounding myself in fortifications of stone and hiding from the world was quite appealing. So this trip gave me the chance to relive those memories. For that child, I cherish these photos.

This Print is for anyone who loves the Scottish highlands and fortifications of stone. Or maybe someone who needs to remember how to dream in a simpler time.
