El Morro: San Juan Puerto Rico
An interpretive, bucolic scene documenting one of the most iconic landmarks from my homeland of Puerto Rico. El Morro Fortress glows at twilight as people frolic in the foreground. I have fond memories of strolling the streets of Old San Juan with my grandfather as a child. He'd get me a piragua (essentially a snow cone) and take on a historical tour through the cobblestone streets of one of the oldest settlements in the Americas. This image is dear to my heart because it was the first night I had been back to the island as an adult (more than twenty years), and I felt a connection and sense of belonging that I hadn't felt in a long time. On this trip I reconnected with my sister and spent time with my last living grandma, both of whom I hadn't seen in years.
The perfect print for those who love Spanish style architecture, New World History, or who simply have a special place in their heart for "La Isla Del Encanto."
