There are Levels to This
A silhouetted Tokyo’s Skytree framed by the fiery skies of the setting sun. It kind of makes me want an orange popsicle.
At 2080 feet in heigh, the tower, quite literally, towers over the other skyscrapers reminding them that there are "levels" to this. Skytree's purpose is to reliably broadcast digital and radio signals in the Tokyo region as the increasing number of high-rises in the city were interfering with the signals from the older Tokyo Tower. The Architectural design is inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics combined with some nifty, cutting-edge tech such as the sophisticated LED lighting system that brings the tower to life at night. It alternates between two themes: "Iki," a chic blue-white that reflects the spirit of Edo, the old name for Tokyo, and "Miyabi," a purple theme that represents elegance and grace.
Next time i'll have to indulge my inner tourist and check out the Tembo Galleria: a 1400 foot rotating observation deck that promises to deliver some incredible views.
I took this image on the same day I took "Fuji's Shadow" while waiting and waiting for Mt. Fuji to come out and play. It would make a great print for those who appreciate the power of modern architecture, travel photography and harbor cravings for orange skies.
