Talking of Michelangelo
"Wise man say ‘forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza ‘ " - Michelangelo -
My favorite image I took in Florence that constantly breaks my heart with the lukewarm reaction it gets on social media when I share it. Oh well. A lesson in humility and a reminder to create for yourself above all else.
The Basilica of Santa Croce is the largest Franciscan church in the world and houses the tombs of some major titans of the Renaissance age. Michelangelo, Machiavelli, and Galileo to name a few. The plaza at its doorstep is a natural convergence of foot traffic and one could easily spend hours people-watching. I was fascinated by the contrast of children playing soccer (futbol) in the presence of the spirits of such monumental figures. I imagined them spectating with amusement. The trip inside is worth the price of admission if for nothing else than the placebo effect of nourishing your own soul's creativity by merely being in the presence of such genius. A much-needed refreshment since viewing Michelangelo's David in person made me feel like everything I've ever done in life is trash.
Pro Tip: Dress appropriately. The nuns inside will give you shit if you show too much skin. That goes for both men and women lol.
