Starlight in Monument Valley
Photography is often frustrating. Too often, things don't go exactly as planned and you make due. Everything from weather to overzealous rent-a-cop security guards can ruin your best-laid plans. This was not one of those cases. I showed up exactly where I wanted to be and had the most incredible experience creating the exact image I wanted. My only regret on this trip is not staying long enough to drive down to the buttes. There's always next time. Just being in their presence makes it easy to imagine why people might mistake them for ancient artifacts of an extraterrestrial nature, or created by an architectural God instead of a man who plays dice with the world. They feel like they don't belong, but you don't feel out of place.
